On May 21, 2006, Steve was honored to be the featured speaker at
Miles Road Baptist Church in Summerville, SC. He preached on Sunday
morning in his Union uniform at the 10th Annual "Flag & Cross" Patriotic Service and followed
up with a Civil War Dads presentation that evening. See the
photographs below. The "Flag & Cross"
service was a very moving tribute to our nation's military veterans and
those who gave the "last full measure of devotion" on the battlefield. Our
hosts were wonderful and exceeded all expectations of "Southern
hospitality." They took great care of this Yankee and his family.
